Rules
1. Choose a “generic” HQ choice for the army book you choose to play. You may choose war gear on for this unit out of your army book, or take war gear from your allies book. You may only choose war gear that the HQ unit your ally has chosen. For example, if you chose an Ork Warboss out of the Ork Codex, and your ally chose a Space Marine Librarian, those two units could choose war gear from either book that those units normally could take, at the regular point cost.
2. Units must be “what you see is what you get”. This will require simple or complex conversions depending on what you choose. Prizes will be given out for the winning team, best conversion, and best painted conversion.
3. The event will start with 1500 point games. Each player will have 750 points, and every game after will increase 500 for each team.
4. Game will be played on Sunday May 15th. Store opens at 8:00 am and we will begin games at 8:30 am. Each game will have a time limit according to point value.
Game 1 – 1,500 pts. 1 1/2 hours 8:30 to 10:00
Game 2 – 2,000 pts. 2 hours 10:00 to 12:00
Lunch – 30 minutes 12:00 to 12:30
Game 3 – 2,500 pts. 2 1/2 hours 12:30 to 3:00
Game 4 – 3,000 pts. 3 hours 3:00 to 6:00
5. Please try to make teams fit with one another. For example, a Space Marine army wold never team up with a Tyranid army. Players must have a storyline as to why the armies have teamed up for the battle!
6. Both players must share the same force organization. Also any war gear or abilities can be used to benefit the other army units because of sharing the force organization!
7. You cannot team up with someone who was your teammate in a previous tournament! I am trying to make it so we have different teams this time around.
8. The league will consist of 4 games in one day. You will play against a team one time, never twice. This allows everyone to fight a different team each game. To determine who you will play in the next round will determine how well you do. First place will play second, third will play forth, and so on.
9. A storyline will be described as you progress. Each game we will do a different scenario played with its own special rules. It will reflect the storyline of the tournament.
10. There will be product support for this tournament.
11. You must keep the units you had in previous games, but may add or subtract unit sizes, change war gear, ect.
12. Escalation League Point Values and Rules
Win – 4 pts.
Tie (Moral Victory) – 3 pts.
Tie – 2 pts.
Loss – 1 pts.
Personal Objective – 1 pt. – In each game players will have a “personal objective” to complete a certain task, or mission. This will allow for 1 extra bonus point even if you win, or lose. Completing the objective will also allow your army and or units to have something added to their next game.
13. Keep track of your victory points at the end of each game. This is important because it can break tie’s at the end of the tournament. You get victory points by destroying an entire unit, or getting the unit down to half its size, ect. These points are worth the value of the unit.
14. Veteran units – The unit that does the best in the winning, or tied armies, will roll on this table for that unit to gain the ability rolled found on page 263 of the main rule book. This signifies units that survive gain experience as they are battle hardened. This unit can lose the ability if they get below half strength, are fleeing, or is destroyed. No veteran unit can ever have more than two abilities!
15. Rules will be WYSIWYG so make sure your models have what they are supposed to!
16. To save time, all four game lists must be printed out and ready to go before the tournament begins. So make sure you decide what your going to take in each game. Do not hold up the tournament for everyone else as your deciding what to take! All lists must be printed out on Army Builder and turned in at least one week before the tournament! Failure to do so will force you to score 0 points for each round you do not supply your army list for.
17. All four rounds of the army lists need to be printed out and turned into me by Saturday, July 23rd. If they are not then your team will be subject to forfeiture of points from each game you do not have the lists turned in. This is only to ensure that lists are not made the day of the tournament, which would severely cause games to be finished late.
18. Imperial Armor units allowed!
19. Apocalypse units are allowed for the 4th game. Flyer rules, formations, and assets will not be used in the tournament.
