After a six hour and thirty minute drive, I was finally in Chicago. What a big weekend it was going to be. The filming of Transformers 3 in downtown Chicago, right on Michigan Avenue. Big, loud explosions were heard, skydivers falling from the sky, and kick ass Autobots and Decepticons to see. What could be better than that!? Winning the ‘Ard Boyz Nationals. I didnt win, but I managed to get 5th after totaling the victory points up. Here were the top three standings.
1. Imperial Guard – Go figure!? Best army out there right now hands down. There were so many “leafblower” lists I lost count.
2. Orks – This guy had mostly a horde army…very impressive!
3. Space Wolves – This guy got first in the semi finals, Todd, Nick and I remember him. Glad at least one of us from Ohio placed in the top three.
Well there you have it. I hope I can do better next year. The Imperial Guard are taking a big hit after this weekend because, no more taking allies from the Witch Hunters of Demonhunters. Here is to next year!

Todd, Nick and I made our way to Toledo, Ohio to participate in round two of Ard Boyz. Todd got 7th, Nick got 6th, and I managed to get 2nd! Which means, I am now on my way to Chicago next month for the championships!

The final combatants from the Semi Finals will meet at the Chicago Battle Bunker on July 17th and after 3 hard fought battles, one will emerge as the 40K ‘Ard Boy for 2010!

11am Round 1 Games Begin

Had a great event for Memorial Day this year. We decided to try out the new “Spearhead expansion” with fantastic results. We decided to have a 3 vs 3 game, with each player having 1,000 points. Having no Force Organization to go by, our armies ended up being very interesting, especially with the Spearhead Formations. The teams were Justin (Space Marines), Tim (Tau), and Seth (Chaos Space Marines) vs. Nick (Space Marines), Chris (Tyranids), and I (Orks). My team ended up winning capturing two objectives to their zero. For further discussion check out the discussion here!

LAN parties are back! New and old Sweetkidz members made it a great party. Those who attended were Seth (Asheron), Jim (Ted Striker), Dan (Schyster), Zack (Mowat), Kenny (Toolshed), and I (Jam). We played Medal of Honor Allied Assault “Classic” and Rune Halls of Valhalla.

The results are in! Here are the final standings and prize support. The top three spots qualify for the semi finals in July.
1st Place Todd (Blood Angels) – A GW boxed set worth $60.00 or less
2nd Place Jamie (Orks) – A GW boxed set worth $40.00 or less
3rd place Nick (Space Marines) – A GW blister worth $20.00 or less

The time is almost here for the ‘Ard Boyz preliminaries. Get your best army and list together to compete in three 2,500 point games. The top three finishers will get to go to the Semifinals. Make sure you sign up at the shop so I have a list of all the entries.
